LICHTING '09 prolonged
LICHTING '09 will be prolonged by one week. This yearly exhibition with works of artist who recently graduated at one of the Dutch art academies can be seen at Vonkel until 17 October 2009. [Klik hier voor meer informatie]

TODAY'S PEOPLE in Amsterdam
Until 19 December 2009 Vonkel exhibits known and new works by Rineke Engwerda and Anne Meijer at Cordares in Amsterdam. Both artists portray today's people. [Klik hier voor meer informatie]
31 October: 3 x art
On Saturday 31 October a special art moment is organized in our gallery. In addition to the opening of two new solo exhibitions by Myra de Vries and Yvonne Zomerdijk, poet Caroline Wiedenhof presents her first poetry collection entitled 'Huishoudelijke mededelingen' (Domestic notes). Two celebrated musicians perform a selection of Schumann's
' Dichterliebe'.
Caroline Wiedenhof's poems relate in more than one ways to the two exhibitions Vonkel puts on its agenda during the last quarter of 2009.
In her poems Wiedenhof reduces the world to its essence, as does Myra de Vries in her paintings. Another characterization of her literary works is a mocking twist, also to be found in the oeuvre of Yvonne Zomerdijk, who is asked to create a painting based on one of Wiedenhof's poems. This special painting will be revealed during the opening.
A musical dimension is added by guitarist Martin Kaaij and saxophonist Raaf Hekkema who perform a choice of Schumann's 'Dichterliebe'.
